In every country or city, there exists a cultural historic place known as Chinatown. In the early days, this place was used to be preoccupied by the Chinese located outside of China. Singapore, being a multi-racial country, has its own Chinatown filled with Chinese heritage too. The locals also named it as Niu Che Shui (牛车水) literally translated as “Ox-cart water”.

The modern Chinatown has now become a well-known place for the senior citizens to come get together. A common choice of leisure activity with either a game of checkers or Chinese chess. Especially the area situated right outside Chinatown Complex, where everyone comes together to challenge a game or watch each other playing chess. Surprisingly, this bustling place is nonetheless livened and filled with laughter despite the intense battle of wits and concentration. This place is definitely a good place to practice photography and try not invading into other’s personal space.
